Silicon Sensing presented on Pinpoint at IEEE Inertial, 2023

By GeoConnexion - 14th April 2023 - 14:16

At the four-day IEEE Inertial international symposium on inertial sensors and systems Dr Mark Marshall, Chief Engineer, Silicon Sensing Systems, presented a paper on the construction and inertial performance of the company’s smallest gyro - the Pinpoint. The presentation explored the gyro’s operating principles and examine its specifications in detail. It described Pinpoint’s construction including the fabrication of the MEMS vibrating ring and outlined the performance envelope of the unit in both flat and orthogonal mounts. The paper also described the properties of the PZT film that Pinpoint uses as both gyro actuator and transducer - and outlined the key performance benefits this brings to the gyro. www.siliconsensing.com
