Nigel Clifford elected as President of the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG)

Nigel Clifford, Deputy Chair of the Geospatial Commission and former Chief Executive Officer of Ordnance Survey, has been elected as President of the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG). At the Society’s Annual General Meeting on Monday 7 June 2021, Mr Clifford has become President for a three-year term. He takes over as the Society’s figurehead and chair of its elected trustees from Baroness Lynda Chalker, long-serving member of the House of Lords and former Foreign Office Minister for Overseas Development and Africa. A Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) and Chartered Geographer, Nigel earned his MA in geography from Cambridge University and MBA from the University of Strathclyde. www.rgs.org
