BESTFACT: Best practices to spur innovation forward

By [email protected] - 23rd March 2016 - 12:40

Over a period of 4 years, scientists collected, developed, evaluated and disseminated innovative ideas for city logistics, green logistics, co-modality and e-freight as part of the EU project Best Practice Factory for Freight Transport (BESTFACT). A new handbook, which includes 157 sustainable best practice examples from across Europe, is now available. The aim of the evaluation and implementation of best practice examples from European cities of different sizes is to help reduce negative environmental effects, improve transport execution efficiency and, above all, present the positive results of such measures. The project was coordinated by PTV and as part of the four-year project, the BESTFACT partners created a knowledge database and hosted conferences and workshops in various European cities in order to select best practice examples which are in line with the EU’s transport logistics objectives. www.ptvgroup.com.
