Unifly enters US market

By [email protected] - 13th May 2017 - 10:17

Today Unifly opens its first office in the US. Supported by the Belgian-American Chamber of Commerce, the Belgian software company’s base for American operations will be in New York.

CEO Marc Kegelaers: “The US is a fast-growing market that holds a strong interest for Unifly. More specifically we are a partner in the NUAIR alliance, the New York based coalition of over 100 companies who collaborate in UAS test ranges along the East Coast. All of that is done in close collaboration with Thales. As to the practical side we’re happy to count on the collaboration of Belcham who’s providing unique infrastructure that makes it possible to take our first step across the ocean.”

The number of drones in the sky is growing exponentially. Safely integrating such a large number of drones is a challenge. This requires a UTM system that can automate the processes to seamlessly integrate drones into the world of manned aviation.

Unifly offers a UAS Traffic Management (UTM) platform to integrate drones into the airspace safely and efficiently. The Unifly UTM platform support all stakeholders: drone operators, local authorities, aviation authorities and solution providers.

In recent months the Belgian software company won several projects for a phased implementation of its UTM platform, including contracts from the German and Danish airspace authorities. Unifly also joined forces with Thales to include the core UTM technology in the aviation software giant’s eco-system solution.
