Antwerp, Belgium - April 1, 2019 - Unifly is proud to announce its expansion through the establishment of its subsidiary Unifly ApS, which is located in Copenhagen, Denmark. The firm welcomes two new employees; Peter Byrn and Tobias Lundby.

This expansion allows for more intense support of the Scandinavia and Baltics region.

Managing Director of Unifly ApS, Ronni Winkler Østergaard, explains:
“I am proud of the setup of Unifly ApS as a subsidiary and the employment of Peter and Tobias, which highlights our progress as a company. With Peter and Tobias in the team, we are able to provide our partners with more intense support in the region.”

Peter Byrn joins the company as a Project Manager. He has a master’s degree of Geographic Information Technologies from Aalborg University and Royal Technical University of Stockholm. During Peter’s career, he has gained notable skills in emerging IT technologies, business development, agile project management and use case exploration and documentation. The industry expertise Peter has acquired over the years is mostly related to transportation, public safety and defence.

Peter’s roles have been focused on exploring and defining high-value business cases in close collaboration with clients and business partners; first on a conceptual level and afterwards as the project lead to match capabilities and demands, in alignment with client’s future requirements and strategies. Peter holds a strong desire to solve challenges by use of innovation, creativity and emerging technologies.

Peter Byrn: “Unifly is a technology-driven company where innovation, IT solutions and agility are all key elements. All of those elements line up perfectly with my engagement and enthusiasm. I also have a great personal interest in the drone industry in general. So, being part of all this within a company that is strongly going to influence the future, is very motivating and extremely exciting.”

Tobias Lundby will fulfil the role of Technical Business Analyst. Tobias’ background lies within robot engineering. He has a master’s degree specialized in Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). Tobias has acquired in-depth knowledge concerning the manual and autonomous operation of drones, navigation in changing environments, Specific Operations Risk Assessment (SORA), etc.

He gained this knowledge working at the University of Southern Denmark. He wrote his thesis about Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) and also developed the internal Sandbox environment at the University.

Tobias Lundby: "Unifly is providing essential tools and infrastructures to the drone industry of today and tomorrow. Therefore, when I received the offer to be a part of their Scandinavian expansion it was an obvious step in my career. My background lies within robot engineering, with a master’s degree specialized in Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). I also worked at the University of Southern Denmark, which allowed me to gain a lot of knowledge concerning the manual and autonomous operation of drones, navigation in changing environments, etc."
