A Bright Seven-inch, High-resolution Display; A User-friendly, Reliable, and Versatile Platform

August 31, 2016, Taipei, Taiwan - Ubiqconn is pleased to announce the MT7000: a durable, all-in-one vehicle terminal for fleet management, asset management, and Electronic Logging (ELD) applications. The MT7000 offers a high-end seven-inch display and intuitive user interface with a 10-point multi-touch PCT touchscreen. Its backup battery can power the device independently from the car battery; smart power management features automatically turn it on and off to consistently update positioning information while conserving energy. Moreover, Ubiqconn’s open API/SDK support allows users to easily develop custom applications. The MT7000’s great hardware, flexibility, and support make it a fantastic platform for myriad in-vehicle applications.

Bright, High-resolution Screen for Quick Readability
The heart of interaction with the MT7000 is its bright and sharp seven-inch touch display. The screen’s 400 nits brightness level, high resolution (1024 x 600), and wide viewing angle ensure quick readability in all conditions, reducing operator fatigue and boosting safety. The display is based on Projected Capacitive Touch (PCT) technology, shielding the screen from rough interaction. The user-friendly interface includes five programmable buttons and voice command input, for quick, hands-off access to key functions.

Smart Power Management Saves Power, Protects Data
The MT7000’s internal 1950mAh backup battery and smart power management protect the device from common vehicular electrical issues including cold cranking start up, load dumping, transient voltages, and electrostatic discharge. When the driver parks the vehicle and cuts the main power, the MT7000 cleanly finishes operations and continues to upload logs and other data to the company’s central server. If backup power ever runs low, the device will preemptively turn itself off with a slow, safe shutdown, protecting data.

Versatile Platform, Easy Customization
The MT7000 supports a wide range of operating systems, including multiple versions of embedded Windows, Linux, and Android 4.4. Ubiqconn provides a robust API/SDK, making it easy for clients to customize and extend the device with their own software apps. There’s a huge range of connection possibilities, including 4G/LTE mobile broadband, 802.11ac WiFi, and Bluetooth 4.0. The MT7000 can also serve as a mobile hotspot for public devices.

Powerful Hardware for Demanding Applications
Inside the MT7000’s environmentally-protected shell is a powerful general-purpose PC with options for the Intel Bay Trail-I E3815 or dual core E3826 1.46GHz CPU, and 2GB or 4GB of DDR3L SDRAM. For data storage, there’s a user-accessible internal mSATA SSD drive and an external, shielded microSD slot.

Rugged and Reliable Operation
The MT7000’s tough ABS enclosure meets military standards of shock, vibration, and humidity resistance; it is IP65 rated for water and dust protection. The device operates in extreme temperatures ranging from -30° to 60° C. An additional waterproof enclosure option is available for exterior installation. The terminal’s simple, fanless design, with no moving parts, ensures long operating life and prevents common maintenance issues.
