The global GIS software and solution provider, Supergeo announces that its powerful desktop GIS software, SuperGIS Desktop, is selected by the Public Works Department of Serang municipality to edit and manage spatial data.

Located at northwestern Java, Serang is the capital of Banten province and has a population more than 640,000. The public works department of Serang is the municipal authority in charge of various public infrastructure projects, including highway construction, water resources management, and urban planning.

Developed by Supergeo product team, SuperGIS Desktop is well-designed GIS software for desktop computers, which not only empowers users to edit and manage spatial data but also to analyze and discover the unrevealed patterns. For example, GIS specialists of city government can plot facilities on digital maps and overlay with other socio-economic data like the census to find if any patterns exist, such as the frequency of road maintenance in some regions is extremely high or the water resources around some areas are rapidly running out. And these phenomena could be the result of an explosive population gain in a small district of the city. By using the amazing analyzing capabilities of GIS, the government can hence make the intervention before problems occur. That is the spatial insight SuperGIS Desktop can provide, which allows users to make smarter and prospective decisions.
