SphereVision Shows New 360 Imaging Tech at GEO Business

By [email protected] - 14th May 2018 - 10:31

New software to handlle and enhance 360 imagery will be shown for the first time at the London event

SphereVision will be showcasing new 360 image products and online services at the UK’s biggest geospatial event. For the first time the specialist in 360 degree imaging solutions will be in attendance at GEO Business, taking place from 22-23 May 2018, in London. Recently relaunched, SphereVision will be located in GEO Business Start-Up Zone and will be showcasing the newly released SphereVision Project suite, complete with Geospatial, Virtual Reality and Timelapse modules. Also being demonstrated for the first time will be SphereVision Portal, which allows 360 imagery to be viewed and shared via the Internet.

“GEO Business is our first opportunity to present SphereVision Project to a wider audience since we launched to market last month,” commented Jonathan Bolton, Product and Service Manager at SphereVision, “and with modules specifically designed for the geospatial industry we expect interest to be strong. As the theme of this year’s event is the ‘4th Industrial Revolution’ we think it is especially topical as 360 imagery provides a different view of the way we live, move, work and communicate.”

Showcasing SphereVision Project on Stand E10 visitors to GEO Business will be able to see how real world context can be added to SphereVision projects with the use of georeferenced images, such as aerial photography, or maps. One of three new modules in SphereVision Project, SphereVision Geospatial allows users to import GeoTIFF files or link directly to OpenStreetMap data using intuitive workflows. Geospatial metadata, from many mobile and static mapping location based services, can be automatically extracted ready to spatially reference new SphereVision projects.

SphereVision will also be showcasing how it can harness the power of virtual reality utilising the HTC Vive headset. Visitors to GEO Business can experience remote sites, immersing themselves in full 360 imagery, and access embedded document and media files. The final module of SphereVision Project, SphereVision Timelapse, allows for the display of multiple 360 captures across a project time-line. Images can be easily combined into a single media type and different epochs navigated to compare project progress, site condition or feature location through time.

GEO Business is the UK’s largest geospatial exhibition and conference and takes place from 22-23 May 2018 at the Business Design Centre in London. A record breaking 2017 event saw 2,386 geomatics and geospatial professionals from around the world (a 48% increase since the launch in 2014) in attendance. At the heart of GEO Business is a free to attend commercial exhibition featuring more than 200 geospatial companies, including SphereVision.
