Digpro launches several new features in the latest version of dpSpatial 7.8

[Stockholm, Sweden, November 10, 2016.] Digpro, the major innovator in the field of Geographic IT, launches its latest version of dpSpatial. Version 7.8 contains about 80 general improvements in the base platform. With dpSpatial, Digpro reaches longer than similar platforms when it comes to flexibility, integration and transparency.

Digpro is with its 30 years in the industry a major innovator within geographic information technology and also the market leader in Scandinavia. Digpro provides solutions for electricity, telecommunications, gas, district heating, water and central and local government - in fact any organization that builds and maintains various types of networks. Digpro’s products enable users to streamline, save time and money, while improving the quality of its service.

Digpro now launches its latest version of the base platform dpSpatial 7.8.

To manage geographic information is the foundation of Digpro’s business. To use geographic information to more than watching it must be structured and stored in the same way as other business data. With its base platform dpSpatial, Digpro reaches longer than similar platforms when it comes to flexibility, integration and transparency in the public sector, both in traditional map production and new service-based methods for data exchange.

In the latest version of dpSpatial you will find several new features, including:

  • Enhanced support for PostgreSQL- Digpro continues to invest in PostgreSQL, along with continued support for Oracle. Standard applications dpCom and dpPower can now run on PostgreSQL and many of the modules are also beginning to get support for PostgreSQL.
  • Improved performance - Performance is a constant concern and Digpro is constantly working to improve it. In this version, there have been several improvements, including efficient mailing checks / faster posting and accelerated view management, e.g. the split view.
  • Improved appearance - A lot of changes have been made to improve the appearance of dpSpatial when running on high-resolution 4K displays of 7.8, and more improvements will come.
  • Facilitation features for system administrators - There have been several new features to make it easier for system administrators, e.g. the ability to filter users (and roles) for which roles they hold, the ability to view 'roles in roles "in an orderly manner and several new reports.
  • Project / non-posted graphics will not disappear - The long-awaited improvement to the project / non-posted graphics loss during post has now been introduced.
  • Create templates for project graphics - If you wish to have a certain look, colour, mannerisms, etc., on the project graphics, you save it as a template. This, in combination with another news, that you can copy individual drawing attributes of a component of a map / schedule is now possible.
  • Share map templates - Those with the above templates, related maps templates have been around in some versions, but in the 7.8 the ability to share maps templates to other selected users is added.
  • Saved items list - A new concept, saved items list, has been introduced. You can now save any items to the item list.
