PAR Government to Showcase Situational Awareness Tools at Esri Federal GIS Conference

By Eric Van Rees - 9th February 2020 - 08:49

PAR Government, a provider of geospatial and decision support services and tools to the U.S. government for 50 years, will showcase its newest solutions at the 2020 Esri Federal GIS Conference. PAR will exhibit its line of situational awareness tools developed for Defense & Intelligence (D&I) agencies that have been adapted for use in the federal civilian, commercial, and international sectors.

“PAR situational awareness tools have proven their value in more than a decade of real-world deployments by U.S. D&I users,” said PAR Government President Matthew Cicchinelli. “Any organization that needs to enhance its communications and information sharing by personnel in the field can now acquire our situational awareness tools.”

The PAR Product and Innovation Line of Business team will be presenting several solutions including the Team Awareness Kit (TAK) with ArcGIS plug-in in Booth 203 at the Esri Federal GIS Conference being held February 11-12, 2020, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

Situational awareness capabilities developed by PAR enable direct communication and sharing of information among individuals and diverse groups that might otherwise be unconnected. In the event of emergencies that require multi-jurisdictional coordination, groups can be rapidly federated. Communication and shared information can include voice, GIS layers, raster maps, text documents, videos, and individual location coordinates.

“Whether an event is planned months in advance or occurs unexpectedly, PAR situational awareness tools allow for unprecedented coordination through the entire lifecycle of the incident,” said Cicchinelli. “We accomplish this primarily with the smart phones and tablets personnel already carry.”

Also at the Esri FedGIS, PAR will demonstrate its geospatial visualization tools which include geospatially enabled video tools and associated SDKs. These products support viewing of full-motion video – along with complete metadata. PAR geovisualization solutions have become industry standards, most notably in the GEOINT community. Due to their ease of use and economical licensing, these tools are gaining traction in the civilian and commercial sectors, including where UAVs are being used for video collection.
