Oi London 2020 is on track to become the largest expo in the marque’s history

Half a century after its inaugural event, Oceanology International (Oi) is pleased to be celebrating its 50th anniversary with the largest ocean science and technology exhibition and conference in the expo’s history – Oi London 2020, at ExCel London (March 17-19). More than 500 companies from 90 countries will be exhibiting their products and services across 17,000m2 of floorspace, with more than 8,000 visitors anticipated.

Exhibitors will address a wide assortment of requirements in categories ranging from Ocean Research and Subsea Engineering to Metrology and Environmental Management. In the field of geosciences and geophysics alone, companies publicising their portfolios will include Horizon Geosciences (stand H350), which provides international marine survey and geotechnical services, and CodaOctopus (stand C300), which will be displaying a variety of innovations including its Seabed Classification module, Underwater Survey Explorer (USE) software and Echoscope 3D imaging sonars. In addition, General Acoustics e.K (stand G203) will be exhibiting its SUBPRO2545 portable sub-bottom profiler.

Other attractions on the show floor will include the Future Tech Hub, set up by Oi to encourage and spotlight small start-up businesses, and the Ocean ICT Zone, created to address a burgeoning interest in the ongoing development of marine and ocean IT, communications, satellite and data solutions.

Meanwhile, an abundant programme of conference sessions will represent an invaluable source of expert insight for delegates, including free-to-attend technical tracks across all three days on a diversity of topics such as Hydrography, Geophysics and Geotechnics (Wednesday, March 18, 10.00-11.30), Environmental Assessment and Monitoring (Thursday, March 19, 10.00-11.30) and Use of Autonomous Systems (Thursday, March 19, 11.45-13.15).

We’re proud and excited in equal measure to have placed so much forethought into organising this 50th anniversary Oi event,” says David Ince, Event Director, Reed Exhibitions, “and look forward to welcoming attendees to celebrate this landmark occasion with us.”
