Navmii announces community Beta Program

By [email protected] - 27th May 2016 - 13:45

Navmii, the free navigation and traffic app, today announces it has introduced a beta program for its community to test product updates before they are released.

From day one, it has been Navmii’s philosophy to build apps that help people discover, get to and experience new places. The product is fuelled by its community so Navmii wanted to involve it to help to steer the direction of Navmii’s future product development. By being part of the Navmii beta community, volunteers will be asked to provide feedback that helps to improve Navmii.

Navmii beta testers will receive the latest updates and by providing real-world every day usage testing, will help Navmii to improve the Navmii experience all over the world. Navmii’s beta program is a closed beta community and existing Navmii users will be prioritised. Navmii is calling on beta testers across the globe to provide a varied, international perspective on product updates and daily mapping usage.

I have provided a brief overview of Navmii below for your reference:

Navmii is the only independent, free satnav app available for iOS, Android, Blackberry and Windows Phone devices across the globe, available for more than 190 countries. The app works offline because the maps are downloaded to your phone – meaning that you avoid hefty data roaming charges when travelling abroad.

  • Awarded ‘best consumer app of the year’ at the Appsters 2015
  • Gamification element - users can log every single mile they drive, the app monitors the length of journey, driving duration, top speed, handling, phone use and a number of other driving habits. The app then allocates a driver score that rewards good driving with improved ranking on the leader board
  • TripAdvisor integration: allows users to view what is nearby based on current location and then intelligently navigate to their chosen ‘point of interest’ with the ability to book tables and rooms via a seamless link
  • what3words integration: what3words is a global grid of 57 trillion three by three metre squares. Each square has a unique three word address that can be communicated quickly and inputted into the Navmii app to be directed to a specific 3m x 3m destination. For example, the south west side entrance at Wembley Stadium has been assigned ‘mostly.scared.swing’, meaning that tracking down your friends at an event or festival is now far easier!
  • Share My Trip – users can share a live journey progress and ETA link with anybody in their contact list. No more ‘where are you?’ calls!
