INRIX® - Traffic Incidents and Road Construction integration for Visual Command Center®

Lansing, MI — March 29, 2016 – IDV Solutions, LLC, has launched an integration with INRIX®, the world’s leading supplier of quality traffic data and driver services, to help companies learn earlier about traffic delays, road closures and construction so that they can avoid disruptions to the supply chain, business travel and operations.

The INRIX Traffic Incident and Road Construction Extension for Visual Command Center® and Visual Command Center for Supply Chain provides timely knowledge of traffic delays that occur near employee locations, facilities, supply routes and other organizational assets. Logistics, security and business continuity teams can use the extension along with Visual Command Center’s Alert, Assess, and Act™ capabilities to anticipate delays and take action to minimize their impact.

IDV Solutions and INRIX will host a webinar on traffic and construction’s impact on operations at 2 p.m. EST on April 26.

“Knowing earlier about potential delays caused by construction and traffic incidents gives companies more time to respond – rerouting deliveries, travelers, or field employees around the obstruction,” said George F. Siegle, IDV Solutions Director of Product Management. “The integration with INRIX traffic data enhances the situational awareness and response capabilities within Visual Command Center so companies can turn an unexpected problem into a manageable situation.”

“INRIX is excited to work with IDV Solutions to add timely roadway traffic and construction information to Visual Command Center,” said Kevin Foreman, GM, GeoAnalytics, INRIX. “By adding information gleaned from more than 275 million vehicles, smartphones, cameras, and other sensors to Visual Command Center, companies can make more informed decisions to protect their supply chains, employees, and operations.”

With the INRIX Traffic Incidents and Road Construction Extension, detailed traffic information is available for more than five million miles of roads in 60 countries. It covers every major road type and class from highways, ramps, and interchanges to arterials, city streets, and other secondary roads. The extension is configurable to give organizations control over which traffic conditions trigger alerts, based on incident type, levels of severity or delay times.

Visual Command Center brings together information and capabilities from this and other external and internal sources, to provide a common operating picture of a company’s assets, personnel, supply chain and operations in relation to potential threats to those assets. When a risk is detected near an asset or employee location, Visual Command Center automatically generates an alert and provides tools to assess whether the risk is a threat and take immediate action to mitigate the impact of the threat.

Some of the world’s largest private and public organizations use Visual Command Center for corporate security, crisis response, event security, traveler and executive protection, supply chain risk management, field services risk management and more.
