Hurricane Michael Aftermath in Panama City and Tyndall AFB

By [email protected] - 12th October 2018 - 17:10

DigitalGlobe’s WorldView-1 satellite collected new imagery on October 11th of Panama City and Tyndall Air Force Base (AFB), Florida. Some of the imagery of Tyndall AFB clearly shows the power of the hurricane—stripping off roofs, tossing planes around and destroying property all throughout the region. Note that DigitalGlobe’s WorldView-1 satellite only collects panchromatic (black & white) imagery. Here is a link to download a set of before/after imagery of the area:https://digitalglobe.box.com/s/0l6er4ckp31vx3rxcujbnp3vna2ou1o8

In the coming day or two, DigitalGlobe expects to have quite a bit of new imagery collected over many of the hardest hit areas from Hurricane Michael (including Mexico Beach). We will be sure to pass along details and other high-resolution imagery graphics for you just as soon as it is available.
