Handheld launches Real Time Kinematic (RTK) options for rugged Android handhelds and tablets

By Eric Van Rees - 13th October 2022 - 08:18

Handheld Group, a Swedish manufacturer of rugged mobile computers, announced the addition of real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning capabilities to three Handheld rugged devices.

RTK is used to enhance the precision of position data derived from satellite-based positioning systems. RTK is now available on the newly launched Algiz RT10 rugged tablet and the Nautiz X81 rugged handheld, as well as the hugely popular Nautiz X6 rugged phablet.

By adding the RTK functionality, field workers can depend on high-precision GNSS while retaining great mobility. With 5G/4G capabilities, you can communicate seamlessly from the field to the back office and rely on steady connectivity to GNSS RTK network corrections. The integrated u-blox multi-band GNSS high-precision receiver uses RTK network corrections to deliver precise, continually available, satellite-corrected position and time information for accurate positioning.

The Algiz RT10, Nautiz X81 and the Nautiz X6 are built to handle tough environments. They are IP67-rated as well as MIL-STD-810 tested and can handle extreme temperatures. You can also view complex graphics with its advanced high-resolution screen technology with super-hardened glass and sunlight viewability.

“We are excited about the possibilities with RTK bringing reliable sub-meter accuracy to the Algiz RT10, Nautiz X81 and the Nautiz X6. This line of RTK products is perfect for outdoor users who require full mobility and accurate positioning. This gives our already competitive product range an extra edge,” says Johan Hed, chief product officer, Handheld Group”
