Esri, Audubon Society, Echosec, and Mapillary Take Home Gold and Silver Medals at the Stevie International Business Awards - Esri and Top Customers Recognized for Excellence and Innovation

Redlands, California—September 7, 2016—Global smart-mapping leader Esri and three of its customers were recognized at the 13th Annual International Business Awards (IBA) for exemplary achievement in the workplace.

The International Business Awards, known as the Stevies, is one of the best known international business award programs. Individuals and organizations worldwide are eligible to submit nominations in a variety of categories. The 2016 IBAs received 3,800 entries from more than 60 nations and territories.

2016 winners include:

Gold Stevie Company of the Year: The National Audubon Society. Audubon is well known for its use of geographic information systems (GIS) to preserve bird species habitat, but they also use the technology to empower citizen scientists, influence government conservation legislation, and streamline organizational collaboration.

Silver Stevie Startup of the Year: Echosec. Echosec uses GIS to map locations of public social media posts that can provide crowdsource information for image detection, alerts, geofencing, and real-time streaming to keep communities safe.

Silver Stevie Startup of the Year: Mapillary. Mapillary uses street-level imagery to identify geographic locations combined with more than 54 million crowdsourced photos and compiles maps that include formerly undocumented places, allowing people to discover—and uncover—the world virtually.

Silver Stevie App of the Year: Esri Survey123. Survey123 simplifies the creation, sharing, and analysis of survey data. Organizations and field workers use Survey123 to streamline the reporting of detailed information, which presents significant cost savings over paper-based workflows.

“We’re proud to serve storied customers like Audubon and to have pioneering organizations like Echosec and Mapillary involved in the Esri Startup Program,” said Esri President and Founder Jack Dangermond. “Processing crowdsourced data and powerful Web maps through ArcGIS Online provides the global community with new perspectives and valuable insight and enables our customers and partners to develop innovative solutions in real time. We’re honored to have been recognized alongside them.”

This year’s Stevie award celebration and presentation is scheduled for October 21, 2016 at the Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

"This year's IBA judges were treated to many remarkable and inspiring stories of achievement," said Michael Gallagher, President and Founder of the Stevie Awards. "We look forward to sharing many of these stories with people around the world over the coming months with the hope that they will inspire and instruct the next generation of business achievers."
