ARES Touch Android CAD Solution Now Available

June 15, 2016 – Berlin – Graebert™ GmbH – the pioneer in developing high-performance CAD solutions across desktop, mobile and cloud – today announced immediate worldwide availability in the Google® Play® store of ARES® Touch, the most advanced DWG-compatible mobile CAD solution for Google Android®.

Available in 14 languages, ARES Touch (previously only available directly from Graebert) is now publicly downloadable from the Google Play store.

Unlike simple Android-based DWG file viewers, ARES Touch is a true CAD solution designed to read, annotate, create and modify industry-standard DWG drawings while on-site or on-the-go.

ARES Touch offers 3 user modes (View-only - Simple - Full) – of which 2 are available for free usage. The free features are great for file viewing and simple annotation, with a full-set of dimensioning and sharing tools. A valid ARES Commander subscription unlocks a wide range of premium features.

Some of the most popular premium features available in “Full mode” include:

• Picture Note: Take pictures with your mobile devices to enhance your DWG drawings ARES Touch will reference the picture with a symbol calling the image when you tap on it.
• Quick Modify: Copy, Move, Rotate and Scale a selection of elements
• Drawing features: lines, polylines, circles, arcs, ellipses, splines, points, hatches
• Editing features: Split, weld, trim, extend, align, offset, fillet, chamfer and more
• Voice Note: Insert a comment by recording your voice
• Blocks: insertion and creation
• API support: C++ and Lisp APIs to add custom commands – the C++ and Lisp API of ARES Touch offers an easy way for developers willing to reuse code initially created for the desktop. They can use ARES Touch as their mobile CAD platform without in-depth Android experience and with access to the same complete set of desktop CAD tools

The premium features are free to try for the first 30 days. After the free trial, users will be offered the choice between activating the full product or continuing to use the app free but without the premium features.

ARES Touch for Android is bundled at no charge with ARES Commander for Microsoft® Windows®, Mac® OS and Linux® - making the ARES CAD software the industry’s only true multi-OS and platform-independent CAD solution. It is part of Graebert's unique "cross-device CAD experience", allowing the user to seamlessly work on CAD drawings across all computer and mobile platforms.

The same product key enables both ARES Commander on the desktop as well as ARES Touch on Android devices. The cost for ARES Touch’s premium features is included as part of the annual subscription of ARES Commander. Users are invited to purchase the combo ARES Commander + ARES Touch from Graebert’s e-store or resellers.

After one year, users are free to renew the subscription which also includes access to a dedicated tech-support hotline, upgrades and services such as LicenseToGo.

Desktop and iOS News:

Graebert also announced the release today of Service Pack 2 for ARES Commander on Windows, Mac and Linux. Bug fixes and two bonus features - CONVERTPOLYLINE and COPYLINK - are included.

As part of this service pack upgrade, users of ARES Commander 2016 can now install ARES Touch directly from the Google Play store. They will also receive free access to the premium features of ARES Touch as long as their desktop subscriptions remain active.

Lastly, an iOS version of ARES Touch for iPad® and iPhone® is under the final stages of development - further details to be announced at the Graebert Annual Meeting in October, 2016.
