Skurinje roundabout Rijekaprojekt, Croatia

Rijekaprojekt d.o.o began a project in the seaport town of Rijeka, Croatia. The small town had very few traffic circles, and the citizens had very little experience using them, so Rijekaprojekt used RDV Systemsâ visualizations to demonstrate exactly how the roundabout would work.
The Challenge: To demonstrate visually both to city officials and citizens how the traffic circle would operate, why it was the most efficient method and how it would contribute to increased traffic safety in Rijeka. The visualization needed to be complex, involving dynamic components of moving cars where both the timing and length of the movement was of key importance. The Solution: Using Civil 3D and RDV, Rijekaprojekt created a visualization of driving around the Skurinje roundabout from different locations throughout the city. The visualizations were published on the local governmentâs website and screenshots were printed in the local paper, to show visually to the population what exactly it would look like. RDVâs tools allowed Rijekaprojekt to quickly create an impressive looking visualization within a short time period and with limited resources.
