Netcad International User Conference, Ankara

Held in late September in the Kemal Kurdas Conference Hall, the event provided a comprehensive platform for Netcad users from far and wide to share their projects and experiences.
Delegates from Germany, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, South Africa, Georgia, Croatia, Iran and Rusia attended, as did Netcadâs domestic partners and users from the public and private sectors.In his welcoming address, Netcad General Manager Serdar Ak made the point that the world had changed much since the company was founded in 1989 but that it had kept pace with that change. \"The current quality of our software and corporate solutions and the level of its acceptance elates us. Much of this success has been due to user feedback and we continue to build on that valuable experience.\"Expressing his pleasure at the level of attendance, Mr. Ak said, âWe are very pleased to welcome hundreds of domestic and foreign users from three continents. When I look around the conference hall, I can see how just how wide is the geographic spread of our user base. Even our domestic audience is drawn from all parts of Turkey: from Şırnak Provincial Administration in the far east, to Edirne Municipality in the far west, and from Antakya Municipality in the far south to the Black Sea Technical University in the far north.\"Netcad 6 announced Mr. Ak went on to announce that Netpro 7 and Nettop 8 were already published and Netcad 6 will be shipping this year. This much-anticipitated release was, he said, a major development, \"The software has been designed from scratch and has an infrastructure that will carry us into the future.âHe also mentioned that; KEOS, NETIGMA and all other Netcad modules will be renewed during the course of 2012. Public Projects sessionThe Public Projects session was the first on the agenda. It started with a presentation from Dr. Gürsel Küsek, General Director of Agricultural Reform for Turkey, on \'Consolidation of the Digital Project Portal\' and was followed by Ibrahim Sanlı, Head of IT for Turkey\'s General Directorate of Forestry, who outlined the nation\'s \'Digital Forest Cadastre through to 2023\'. The session continued with Mustafa Aktas of Turkey\'s Environmental Protection Agency for Special Areas who spoke on \'GIS Database Design and Applications for Private Environmental Protection Areas,â and the Deputy General Director of Turkish Coal Enterprises with a paper entitled \'Software used by TKI (Turkish Coal Enterprises) for Mining Activities and Mining Automation, Design Software Project.\' The session concluded with a presentaion from the Tekirdag Special Provincial Administration on \'GIS Applications with Netcad\'.International sessionParticipation from overseas delegates began with Nazım Ismayilov, Director of Cadastre for Azerbaijan\'s State Land and Cartography Committee. who described the \'Azerbaijan - Cadastre Project\' currently being handled by Netcad.Ezzatollah Mohammadi, General Manager of Netcad\'s Iranian solutions partner, Parsineh Tarhe Atieh Co., delivered a presentation on an \'Interoperable Web GIS for Agriculture in Golestan Province\' ... a project jointly engineered by Netcad & PTA. \'Cartography and Netcad in Bangladesh\' was next on the agenda, presented by Colonel Mahmudun Nabi, Director of Defense Survey - from Survey of Bangladesh. This was followed by a description of Netcadâs latest mining engineering tool, Netpromine, by Sarel Blaauw, CEO of South Africa\'s Tacmin Group during his presentation \'Mining Software and Netcadâs marketing activities in Africa\'. Wolfgang Wolf, Chairman of Germany\'s Industry Association of Baden-Württemberg, spoke on the topic of \'Collaboration of Netcad and German Industrial Organisations\', while Tatiana Sergeeva, Business Development Manager for the Softline Group, informed delegates about the new partnership between Netcad and Russiaâs biggest software group.In the City Automation Systems for Local Government session, the Turkish Minicipalities of Trabzon, Tarsus, Beylikdüzü, Sincan, Ataşehir and İstanbul Metropolitan shared their experiences as users of Netcad software. In the final session - Public and University Projects - senior lecturers and representatives from Ankara University, Hacettepe University, Kentsel DönüşÃ¼m A.Ş., Temelsu International Engineering Services Inc., Azerbaijani Architecture and Construction University, explained how Netcad solutions had brought value to their projects. Plaques and certificates for local and international speakers were presented in a closing ceremony, with Ezzatollah Moha from Netcad\'s Iranian partner PTA being awarded the âNetcad Partner Excellence Award.â The award included a one-week holiday for two in Antalya.A group photograph of all participants was taken and the day concluded with a dinner at METU Vişnelik Facilities and a rock concert featuring famous local band âHigh Fiveâ at a grass amphitheater.On the following day, foreign guests and members of Netcadâs International Department embarked on a city tour. When the sun set on the hills of this unique city, the smiles paid testimony to a highly successful event.
