The offer is primarily aimed at students and junior staff of corporate and sponsor members who might benefit from the experience but will find it difficult to obtain the funding to attend. As part of the AGI '06 Information Team, volunteers may be asked to undertake any of the following tasks:* Direct delegates and visitors to the correct places i.e. meeting rooms, cloakroom, toilets, coffee points, etc, in the Business Design Centre* Take Speakers and Chairs to the dedicated Speakers' Lounge * Direct visitors to the Exhibition and Delegates to the Conference to the correct registration desks* To light pen all visitors into the exhibition* Man the Conference session rooms and light pen delegates going into the sessions* General assistance in/outside meeting rooms at the Conference and general assistance on the Exhibition floor to help deal with any eventualities* Staff the Conference Information desk In return, the team members will receive:* Opportunities to network with industry leaders and key players* Access to conference sessions, wherever possible* Up to date information on the latest developments in GI* Access to state of the art technology at the exhibition* Free copy of the conference proceedings* Sandwich lunch everyday you are part of the Information Team * Invitation to the Champagne reception on Tuesday evening* Travel expenses within London* CV and careers workshop with representatives from major exhibitors (TBC)The Information Team will need to be on site from 08:00 on Tuesday morning and will be free to leave when all the Conference delegates have been ushered to the champagne reception in the Exhibition Hall at 17.00. You are invited to attend the reception if you wish to stay. The Information Team will then be required to be on site from 08:00 on Wednesday and Thursday mornings until the Conference and Exhibition closes at 17:15 on Wednesday and 17:00 on Thursday. It is very important that the Information Team is on site early in the morning and if you volunteer you do need to commit to the early morning starts. We looking for at least 10 yellow shirts on site each day so are therefore looking for a minimum of 10 people who can commit for the three days, or 15/20 people who are willing to attend for 1 or 2 days. If you wish to attend particular sessions, please let me know sooner rather than later, as once the duty rota has been drawn up it will be difficult to swap people around to accommodate a late request. Note too that even with early requests we cannot guarantee that you will get to sit in on all the sessions of your choice, but we will do our best to make sure that the arrangements are mutually beneficial. The more people on the rota, the more conference sessions we will be able to offer each individual. The Conference and Exhibition takes place at the Business Design Centre, Islington from 12 â 14 September 2006. For information about the Conference programme and for more information about the conference and exhibition generally, please visit the AGI website www.agi.org.uk This is an excellent opportunity to find out first hand what's going on in the industry and to meet and hear the players shaping it. We have run this team for eight years now and this year hope to run a CV and careers workshop early on the Wednesday morning with representatives from the major exhibitors for those in the Information Team seeking advice. If you are interested in this opportunity, please let me know ASAP and I can give you any further information you may require.Susan Walter, Business Operations Officer AGI [email protected] 020 7017 8497
