The AgriFutureDays have been initiated by the Club of Ossiach

The AgriFutureDays have been initiated by the Club of Ossiach, a group of agriculturists, agri-business managers, agriculture and forestry technologists, environmentalists and agricultural ICT specialists from around the world.

They meet periodically to collectively discuss and collaboratively act on influencing the use of information and communications technologies (ICTs) to improve agricultural productivity, profitability and contribution to food and nutritional security and safety globally.

The AFDs during 22-24th June 2016 offer the possibility to showcase technologies, products, innovations, services and methods for the farming- and forestry community to applicable innovations. The conference will be a great place for exhibitors to meet key decision makers from practices, governments, and organizations. Around 50 presentations and a large number of attendees from all over the world are expected. Beside presentations AFDs will have also a posters session. Furthermore three workshops will bring cooperation and discussions within all participants.

Conference Theme: SMART RURAL AREA for SMART CITIES
In the light of rapid growth of urbanization world-wide, the development of the rural area lacks behind developments of smart cities. The conference will discuss how ICT can contribute to the future of agriculture for large farms as well as for smallholder farmers. It will also look at frameworks, necessary to integrate all chain partners from production to marketability as well as support education and ethics.

Topics of Interest
AFDs 2016 will look at key issues in 3 areas where applications and use ICTs and related technologies make a difference:

  1. Technologies and technology integration
  2. Chain management and stakeholder´s integration incl. public & private
  3. Education and local experience integration
