The 2017 Earth Observation Summit

The 2017 EO Summit is an International event bringing together in one venue the 38th Canadian Symposium on Remote Sensing (CRSS), the 17th Congress of L’Association Québécoise de Télédétection (L’AQT), the 11th Advanced SAR workshop (ASAR) organized by the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) and the 51st workshop from L’Association de Géomatique Municipale du Québec (AGMQ).

Canadian and foreign participants from governments, industry and academia will join us in this unique event. Among our confirmed partners, we count the European Space Agency (ESA), the French Space Agency (CNES), the German Space Agency (DLR), the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS) and the Group on Earth Observation (GEO).

With an expected attendance of 500 participants and speakers in various EO fields, numerous thematic sessions will be presented on diverse subjects such as; climate change, disaster management, ocean and coastal applications, the North and the cryosphere, forestry, mining, advanced SAR innovation, big data in EO, drones and municipal uses of EO. Also, a summer school, EO awareness activities open to the public and three workshops will be part of the 2017 EO Summit :

  • Emerging commercialization of Earth Observation (EuroConsult);
  • Remote Sensing contribution to ecosystems, environment and climate issues and their relations to public health (Public Health Agency Canada [PHAC] and the Canadian Space Agency [CSA])
  • Wildfires (Natural Resources Canada [NRCAN] and the Canadian Space Agency [CSA])
