SBG Systems announced an expansion of its high-performance inertial navigation systems, Ekinox, Apogee, and Navsight, with new GNSS receiver options.
This enhancement provides users with greater flexibility while maintaining the precision and reliability that SBG Systems is known for.
Enhanced GNSS capabilities for tailored positioning solutions
Until now, our inertial navigation solutions integrated a state-of-the-art triple-band GNSS receiver with RTK and Fugro Marinestar capabilities. Three additional GNSS receiver variants are introduced, broadening the range of positioning solutions available to customers. Each variant is designed to cater to specific regional and application-based requirements while ensuring core benefits such as:
- Triple-band RTK support for real-time high-accuracy positioning and post-processing precision.
- Full compatibility with major GNSS constellations, including GPS, GALILEO, GLONASS, BEIDOU, and QZSS.
Three GNSS variants to meet specific needs:
- Marinestar
This variant supports Fugro Marinestar, delivering centimeter-level Precise Point Positioning (PPP) with fast convergence through L-band corrections. This capability eliminates the need for a base station, making it an ideal choice for marine applications, whether near shore or offshore. It ensures optimal performance for hydrographic surveys, dredging, and other maritime operations requiring high-precision positioning with minimal infrastructure. - HAS Ready / NavIC – Future-proofed for emerging global services
Designed with a forward-looking approach, this variant incorporates additional GNSS bands, including GALILEO E6, to be ready for the upcoming GALILEO High Accuracy Service (HAS), a free global decimeter-level PPP correction service. Furthermore, it supports the Indian NavIC system, extending its usability to applications in India and beyond. One of its standout features is support for GALILEO AltBOC, which enhances signal robustness and multipath resistance, making it ideal for urban environments, aviation, and other applications where signal integrity is paramount. - CLAS (Centimeter-Level Augmentation Service) - Optimized for Japanese users
Tailored specifically for users in Japan, this variant leverages the QZSS L6 signal and the CLAS service, providing free PPP corrections from the sky. Unlike conventional RTK solutions, CLAS does not require an external correction service, making it an attractive solution for land and marine navigation in Japan. It ensures seamless operation with high accuracy and reliability, reducing dependency on ground-based infrastructure.
