Riegl at Intergeo 2019

By Eric Van Rees - 17th September 2019 - 09:52

According to our slogan “Innovation in 3D”, we are delighted to present to you our latest developments and the highlights presented for ALS, TLS, ULS, BLS and MLS.

If you are at INTERGEO 2019, stop by our booth, I1.024 in Hall 1, to see our latest developments in person and to meet with our team of RIEGL experts.

Find below a short summary on our newest releases:

Airborne Laser Scanning (ALS)

The NEW RIEGL VQ-780II Airborne Laser Scanner and the NEW RIEGL VQ-1560II Airborne Laser Scanning System – with a pulse repetition rate of 2 MHz and 4 MHz respectively – provide mission results with further increased productivity for both high-point-density mapping and ultra-wide-area mapping.

The proven VP-1 Helicopter Pod is now also available with the fully integrated RIEGL VUX-240 Airborne Laser Scanner providing up to 1.5 million measurements per second and ideally suited for applications like corridor mapping.

Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS)

The 3D Terrestrial Laser Scanners RIEGL VZ-400i and VZ-2000i are showcasing their full performance and user friendliness. They enable so-called fast terrestrial laser scanning (fast-TLS), which allows the user to acquire, process, and deliver information-rich scan data with an unprecedented speed, robustness, and accuracy of hundreds of scan positions per working day.

The NEW Add-On Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery RBLI 2900 including three individually removable battery packs (hot swap capable) further improves the usability of the scanners.

With the NEW VZ-i-20M Industrial Camera, RIEGL offers a solution that ensures the acquisition of high-quality image data safely, even in harsh environments.

The NEW VZ-i GNSS RTK Receiver with fast convergence times and reliable performance will ensure concurrent reception of GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou to further improve workflow and mission results of RIEGL‘s VZ-i Series Laser Scanners.

UAV-based Laser Scanning (ULS)

RIEGL added the NEW miniVUX-2UAV LiDAR sensor to the versatile portfolio of professional solutions for UAV-based surveying. The sister type of the proven RIEGL miniVUX-1UAV sensor offers 100 kHz and 200 kHz laser PRR. The sensor provides up to 200,000 measurements per second and thus, a dense point pattern on the ground for UAV-based applications that require the acquisition of small objects.

Bathymetric Laser Scanning (BLS)

The RIEGL VQ-840-G Topo-Bathymetric Airborne Laser Scanner provides high spatial resolution due to a measurement rate of up to 200 kHz and a selectable laser beam divergence. Optionally complemented by an IMU/GNSS system and a camera or an IR rangefinder, a fully integrated system for coastline and shallow water mapping is ready for use on various aircraft platforms including UAV’s.

Mobile Laser Scanning (MLS)

The NEW RIEGL VMX-2HA BC “Basic Configuration” comes as a version of the well-proven Dual Scanner Mobile Mapping System VMX-2HA, but reduced in weight and size, yet focusing on high-end scanning performance. It delivers utmost scanning performance without compromises and can be complemented with an optional spherical imaging system such as the FLIR Ladybug® 5+ camera.

The RIEGL VMX-2HA camera system now benefits from a NEW dual pavement camera configuration that offers a smaller ground sampling distance to detect even small cracks in the road surface.
