Microsoft supports transport logistics with its launch of Truck Routing API

Designed specifically for commercial transportation routing logistics, the Bing Maps Truck Routing API is the new addition to the Microsoft enterprise mapping platform. When routing commercial vehicles, there are special requirements that need to be considered, such as vehicle size, speed limits, legal requirements for the transportation of goods (such as hazardous materials), road restrictions, and more. The Bing Maps Truck Routing API provides navigation instructions including turn-by-turn directions, travel duration, and travel distance based on the longitude and latitude of the route and specific commercial vehicle requirements. In addition, the Streetside imagery capabilities of the Bing Maps platform can be used to view why the vehicle needs to take a different route, such as a low or narrow bridge, sharp corner, waterway, and more.

The API is easy to integrate into the Microsoft stack or into an existing solution using the Bing Maps platform. Grey Matter provides licensing expertise as the sole Microsoft Bing Maps distributor for EMEA and APAC.
