MapAction Announces New Director of Fundraising & Marketing

MapAction, a leading humanitarian mapping charity, has announced the appointment of Ian Davis as its new Director of Fundraising & Marketing.

Ian will be responsible for the charity’s fundraising strategy from community fundraising to working with high value donors, to corporate support and engagement with trusts. His role will also encompass brand awareness initiatives for the Bucks-based charity which enjoys the active Royal Patronage of HRH Prince Henry of Wales.

Ian was previously the Head of Partnerships at MapAction where was instrumental in securing several new high value funding partnerships. He previously held roles at Child Bereavement UK, People & Planet and Oxfam as well as Chairing the Institute of Fundraising Chilterns Group.

Liz Hughes, Chief Executive of MapAction said, “Ian takes on this role at a really important time for the charity, as we strive to increase awareness of the critical work undertaken by our team of volunteers, anywhere in the world, where there is a life-threatening need.”

Sharon Robertson also joins MapAction, this September, as Head of Grants Fundraising. Sharon was previously at Action4Youth and comes with impressive experience across grants fundraising.
