By [email protected] - 8th November 2016 - 20:03

The 3rd International Conference on Geographical Information Systems Theory, Applications and Management (GISTAM 2017 - http://www.gistam.org/) has an open call for papers, whose deadline is scheduled for November 30, 2016.

We hope you can participate in this conference by submitting a paper reflecting your current research in any of the following areas:

  • Data Acquisition and Processing
  • Remote Sensing
  • Modeling, Representation and Visualization
  • Knowledge Extraction and Management
  • Domain Applications

GISTAM will be held in Oporto, Portugal, April 27 – 28 2017.

The conference will be sponsored by the Institute INSTICC and held in cooperation with the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS), the Canadian Institute of Geomatics (CIG), the ACM Special Interest Group on Spatial Information (ACM SIGSPATIAL), the European Association of Geographers (EUROGEO), the Société Francaise de Photogrammétrie et de Télédétection (SFPT), the Global Spatial Data Infrastructure Association (GSDI), the Associazione Italiana di Geografia fisica e Geomorfologia (AIGeo), the Group on Earth Observations (GEO) and The Imaging and Geospatial Information Scoiety (ASPRS). INSTICC is Member of the Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC) and Object Management Group (OMG). Logistics Partner the Science and Technology Events (SCITEVENTS).

GISTAM aims at creating a meeting point of researchers and practitioners that address new challenges in geo-spatial data sensing, observation, representation, processing, visualization, sharing and managing, in all aspects concerning both information communication and technologies (ICT) as well as management information systems and knowledge-based systems. The conference welcomes original papers of either practical or theoretical nature, presenting research or applications, of specialized or interdisciplinary nature, addressing any aspect of geographic information systems and technologies.

We would like to highlight the presence of the following keynote speakers:

  • George Vosselman, University of Twente, Netherlands
  • Jorge Miguel Alberto de Miranda, University of Lisbon, Portugal
