Envitia appoints new Chief Technology Officer to Board of Directors

British technology and data services company, Envitia, has appointed its new Chief Technical Officer (CTO), Dr Ricardo Santos, to its Board of Directors.

As CTO of Envitia, Santos sets the technical direction and works closely with developers and data consultants to deliver end-to-end data analytics solutions for clients, particularly drawing on Envitia’s heritage in location-based data. He also heads the development of back-end and front-end analytics using a range of enterprise and cloud technologies.

Santos, who joined the company in November, brings with him over 20 years of experience from leading technology companies where he was responsible for the development of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing solutions for several public and private sector organisations.

Most recently he was Head of Research and Innovation at Concentra Analytics, leading the development of its cloud data warehouse automation platform, DataPlus.

In addition, since 2006 Santos has been a researcher at the University of Coimbra in Portugal, authoring research papers that have been published in international conferences and journals on Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Data Analytics, and Data Science.
