Drones not bridges answers Boris Johnson’s cross Channel suggestion

By [email protected] - 22nd January 2018 - 11:33

“The suggestion made by Boris Johnson of a bridge across the Channel between the UK and France, is totally misplaced since it takes no account of the massive impact on transport infrastructure that will be delivered by the drone industry over the next decade alone”.

This comment comes from Robert Garbett, founder and Chief Executive of UK-based Drone Major Group Limited, which provides services to connect and support suppliers and end-users within the drone industry throughout the world.

Robert Garbett, added:

“2018 is set to be a watershed year for the drone industry, when there is expected to be significant progress on drone standards and regulation that will stimulate the development of one of the most exciting growth industries on the planet. The drone industry embraces everything from aerial gyrocopter drones, to driverless cars, marine, surface and underwater vehicles, and passenger or freight-carrying transporters.

“Drone technology is already being used to dramatically reduce infrastructure delivery, saving millions on large scale projects.”

Robert Garbett is one of the world’s leading authorities in drone industry developments for the future and is an advisor to governments, commercial and public sector drone users and manufacturers throughout the world. He is also chairman of the British Standards Institution (BSI) committee responsible for UK drone standards and has been appointed by the BSI to the ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) and European level as the UK’s lead drone expert.
