Dr Marzia Bolpagni, a UK BIM Alliance Ambassador has been awarded Young Engineer of the Year.

Alongside being awarded Royal Academy Engineers Trust Young Engineer of the Year, Marzia has also received the Academy’s highly acclaimed Sir George Macfarlane Medal for demonstrating excellence in the early stage of her career.

Dr Anne Kemp OBE, UK BIM Alliance Chair said “I couldn’t be more thrilled for Marzia. Having first met her while she was doing her PhD in Milan, it has been marvellous to see Marzia go from strength to strength in her career, not only providing value to her employers, but contributing massively on the European/UK standards development stage - often amid emotionally charged arguments and debate. Marzia doesn’t give up. I am proud that we have her as an Ambassador for the Alliance and hugely grateful to her for her continuing contributions to the UK BIM Framework Guidance. A heartfelt well done Marzia!”

Dr Marzia Bolpagni, Head of BIM International & Associate Director at Mace said: “I am extremely honoured to receive these awards. It is an achievement for the entire Digital Engineering community that has been recognised as game changer among different engineering disciplines, across all sectors. Our role is key to pursue a sustainable world and transform the industries and organisations we work in. I am determined to continue working with talented industry experts to enhance the impact of our sector.”
