Data Gateway brings powerful data validation and processing via a self-serve, training-free experien

1Spatial, the global geospatial software and solutions company, is pleased to launch Data Gateway, a new extension for the popular 1Integrate data management solution. Data Gateway allows users to access powerful, self-service data validation and enhancement capabilities without specialist training.

The extension lets system administrators provide a simple drag-drop-and-play portal for non-specialist users. Internal staff and external partners can then apply validation or enhancement rules to files of geospatial data using a simple web interface.

Administrators can control the available rules on a project or user basis and monitor results. Data validation and enhancement becomes faster and more efficient while administrators’ expert-time is freed up to focus on more complex tasks.

Data Gateway is ideal for:

  • Organisations who want to receive pre-validated data from internal or external data suppliers. By providing access to the Data Gateway extension, suppliers can test their data submissions to ensure they meet service level agreements (SLAs) for quality. The quality metrics for those submitting suppliers can then be viewed on a dashboard.
  • Organisations who want to provide data processing capabilities to their users or partner organisations. Pre-configured processing for geospatial data such as correction, simplification, shifting, inference or integration can be made available on simple, self-service basis.

Validation and processing results are available in a map view or as a downloadable GIS file, making it simple for users to browse and correct the validation errors or receive and use the processed data.

Data quality statistics are available in a dashboard which shows quality trends of the data over time, which can be filtered by supplier, project, rule, date etc.

1Integrate is used by many organisations around the world, including the US Census Bureau, Northumbrian Water, the State of Michigan and Ordnance Survey Ireland. It provides automated data validation, cleaning, transformation and enhancement for geospatial data. 1Integrate allows organisations to assess and improve the quality of data to ensure it meets defined specifications and is fit for purpose.

Claire Milverton, CEO of 1Spatial says, “As geospatial, or location, data becomes increasingly central to decision-making, spatial data experts are under increasing pressure to provide authoritative, up-to-date data. The 1Integrate Data Gateway Extension enables organisations to democratise the important but routine tasks of data validation and processing while freeing up expert time for innovation.”

Seb Lessware, Senior Product Manager 1Spatial commented, “Many organisations already use 1Integrate to automate data validation, cleaning, transformation and enhancement. With Data Gateway Extension, they can safely and securely extend many of those capabilities to non-expert users via a simple interface that requires no training to use. It’s ideal for organisations who want their data suppliers to have their data automatically approved.”
