Cadcorp AVLS Tool updated to SIS 9

By [email protected] - 22nd August 2019 - 12:37

Takes Automatic Vehicle Location System (AVLS) log files and applies real world speed data to OS Highways Network, ITN or Open Roads data

The Cadcorp AVLS Tool is an optional add-in to Cadcorp SIS Desktop that allows Emergency Services to snap their historic Automatic Vehicle Location System (AVLS) data to a road network. This means route finding operations can be performed with speeds based on the actual average speeds of an emergency services vehicle, rather than on assumptive speeds based on a road classification.

AVLS data can be loaded from either an Access database or a spatial table in SQL Server. It reads AVLS data points from text files (.csv or SQL Server), determines which road link each should be applied to and stores this with x, y, speed and road link id.

With AVLS data added to the road network as attributes, these can be used as part of the routing expression in other Cadcorp applications, such as the Routing Tools.

The AVLS tool works with OS Highways Network, ITN, and OS Open Roads data.
