28 November 2018: The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Energy & Utilities Domain Working Group (DWG) is excited to announce that its 2nd Energy Summit will be held alongside the December OGC Technical Committee Meeting in Charlotte, NC.
This 2nd Energy & Utilities Summit will examine the role of OGC standards in support of Smart Energy Utilities, Smart Energy Communities, and Smart Energy Networks.
This summit will bring together thought leaders, experts in the energy & utilities domain, world-class researchers, as well as participants from Utilities, Government, Service Providers and Geospatial Solution Providers - including OGC members and non-members alike. The summit aims to explore key trends and pain points, interoperability initiatives/solutions, and opportunities to advance OGC standards through future work.
There are several OGC standards that are pertinent to solving pain points in the energy and utilities domain – this Summit will bring together members of various OGC Domain Working Groups and Standards Working Groups, to better foster collaboration and knowledge exchange.
For background, the 1st Energy Summit, in 2017, resulted in the report and presentations now available on the Energy & Utilities DWG Wiki Page.
The Summit takes place on 11 December 2018, during the OGC Technical Committee Meeting taking place in Charlotte, NC, and hosted by the Electric Power Research Institute.
