Agriculture and Land Surface Deformation: Webinar

By GeoConnexion - 6th March 2019 - 09:59

A Deeper Dive into SAR: Agriculture and Land Surface Deformation | Wednesday, 3 April 2019

In this third and last part of our SAR webinar series, we are focusing on the background, processing, and results of two more advanced topics that use time series analysis with SAR data.

The first topic is monitoring agriculture and understanding best practices for how SAR signals interacts with plant growth. SAR is exceptionally useful for monitoring agriculture as it can penetrate cloud cover and observe different growth patterns and stages. For this example we’ll use Airbus TerraSARx data.

The second topic is land subsidence using Small Baseline Subsets (SBAS) for surface changes. Land subsidence monitoring is essential for urban and rural areas that experience seismic displacement, landslides, sinkholes, land deformations and other scenarios. Understanding change in these areas can help understand subsisdence trends and create warnings.
