By [email protected] - 5th November 2008 - 10:57

Geological Surveying and Investigation in three Dimensions (GSI3D) software toolsand methodology were discussed, at the beginning of September by scientistsfrom EU and the US who gathered at BGS Headquarters in Keyworth at a turningpoint of an international challenge.
Professor Peach, Chief Scientist of the BGS, welcomed the 150 attendees to the second International GSI3D conference which took place at the British Geological Survey Keyworth headquarters. We are very keen, said Peach, to promote the development of geological models and their attributes in a 3D environment. The reason is not a luxury or an intellectual choice but a real necessity he said. We must find a solution to the big problems that climate change imposes on us.To download a comprehensive report which includes links of extended abstracts of all the presentations of both days and other papers and useful links see EDITORâS CHOICE below
