INTERGEO 2020 UPDATE: INTERGEO Digital 2020v

By GeoConnexion - 26th August 2020 - 13:48

Trade fair exhibitors meet visitors, conference speakers meet their audience - everything as usual. And yet everything is new! Because in this special year 2020 INTERGEO will take place in purely digital form with over 200 exhibitors and around 150 lectures and keynotes.

For the first time, the international Geo-IT community will meet in virtual space between 13-15 October. Visit the theme platforms Smart City Solutions and Interaerial Solutions digital from the comfort of your own home at INTERGEO Digital!

Digital is the only way to reach the market in these extraordinary times. The top themes of INTERGEO DIGITAL 2020 focus on current issues worldwide: the all-encompassing digitalisation, questions of climate protection, and the urgent need for expansion of the infrastructure. As always, the EXPO and CONFERENCE will focus on highly professional knowledge transfer and the networking of a uniquely innovative industry. INTERGEO DIGITAL is supported by the sponsors Autodesk, Hexagon and Trimble.

EXPO enables global matchmaking

More than 200 exhibitors will present their products and solutions to an international audience at INTERGEO DIGITAL EXPO from 13 to 15 October 2020. As always, EXPO means global matchmaking for exhibitors and visitors. The focus will be on individual communication between the players.

Through their profiles, exhibitors offer the entire spectrum of activities that they have shown at the trade fair stand in the past. From individual discussions, product presentations to panel discussions, exhibitors have the opportunity to maintain contact with their customers and meet new customers across all time zones. Visitors can reach the supplier directly via search and orientation functions and automated algorithms. In addition to the exhibitors’ offerings, visitors to INTERGEO DIGITAL 2020 will also be able to take advantage of the Stages programme on the topics of geoinnovation, BIM, drones and Smart City as usual.

CONFERENCE with a top programme

At the three-day CONFERENCE, around 100 speakers will report on the contribution geodesy and geoinformation are making to climate protection, the digitalisation of the construction industry and the resilience of our cities. The programme includes technological trends such as block chain, cloud computing and artificial intelligence. Smart Mapping shows official cartography in upheaval. The programme includes first-class keynotes and lectures on standardisation in digital planning and construction, as well as developments and projects in Building Information Modeling (BIM). The challenges and requirements of cities are the focus of the CONFERENCE in the Smart City theme area. Climate protection and adaptation to climate change will deal with the roadmap for the climate and environmental policy challenges of our time – at a local, regional and global level. A particular focus here will be the “EU Green Deal - Challenges for Land Management”.

The public sector is increasingly exploiting the potential of satellite remote sensing. For example, Copernicus now offers image-oriented processes under the keyword “AI” for detecting changes and, thus, to update the basic geodata. The Geodetic Spatial Reference uses radar interferometry to monitor ground movements; GNSS celebrates its 30th birthday, and SAPOS opens-up for mass market applications. All these topics are presented under the umbrella of POSITIONALE. The two sessions of the POSITIONALE take place on 15.10. from 9.30-12.30 with top-class speakers.
