DigitalGlobe’s constellation of five high-resolution imaging satellites had a front-row seat for virtually every global event of importance, and today we are releasing 20 of the most iconic satellite images from 2016.

In 2016, DigitalGlobe imagery enabled Facebook to map populations in the developing world, quantified China’s crude oil stockpiles, revealed the widespread destruction of antiquities and cultural sites across the Middle East, and aided the response to natural disasters like the Fort McMurray wildfires.
