Getmapping Wins bid to Supply Scottish Government with Aerial Photography
Getmapping has won a bid to supply Scottish Government with matched ‘True Colour’ (TC) and ‘Colour Infra-Red’ (CIR) orthorectified digital aerial imagery covering the complete land area of Scotland. This includes all Scottish islands, coastal structures and 10km across the border with England. Image resolution will be 25cm GSD (Ground Sampled Distance) per pixel. The contract runs for four years to 2017 and includes existing imagery as well as updates so that all imagery is within 3 years old from 2016 onwards.

British GIS and web mapping software developer Cadcorp, has won a place on the approved list of suppliers of Software as a Service (SaaS) for Cadcorp’s submitted services, as part of the government’s G-Cloud iii framework.

Aeropuertos Españoles y Navegación Aérea (Aena), which handles more passengers than any other airport operator in the world, is using software from the British developer Cadcorp to manage geographic information about its extensive infrastructure of airports and radio masts.

Internet Sharing from Leica GR25 WLAN-enabled GNSS Reference Server
(Heerbrugg, Switzerland, 8 May 2013) - The Leica GR25 GNSS Reference Server has now been enhanced with a standard on-board WLAN module to extend its Ethernet and mobile wireless internet connectivity options. This is accompanied by the new RefWorx on-board firmware v3.00, adding unique internet connection sharing allowing other computers or network devices connected to Ethernet or WLAN to directly access the Internet through the GR10 or GR25 server’s new routing capability. The new flexible Site Monitor positioning modes and many other improvements are also included. These new capabilities together with other advanced communication interfaces, the integrated modular devices management, multi-user management and high end security means that currently only the GR25 provides a true GNSS Reference Server functionality.
