The XYZ Digital Map Company has for many years sponsored the Royal Scottish Geographical Society XYZ Digital Award to a young Scottish based cartographer / geographer. The 2008 recipient was Mike Bell of Edinburgh City Council for his services to implementing and expanding the role of GIS and digital mapping within the Council, but also for his important work within AGI Scotland over many years.
We would now like to invite suggestions for candidates for the 2009 Award which will be presented in October at the annual RSGS Awards Ceremony.
Candidates should have an established track record in cartography, GIS, web mapping, or similar and be based in Scotland. If you wish to make a proposal please send a letter with the name and address and other contact details of yourself and the candidate, plus a short justification for why you believe they are worthy of the Award. Your letter should be addressed to: The Awards Committee, RSGS, Lord John Murray House, 15-19 North Port, Perth PH1 5LU.
