Workshop to boost UK entries for Satellite Navigation Competition
Having rewarded Europe’s best ideas for innovative satellite navigation applications technology, the European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC) is now in its 6th year.
GRACE, the GNSS Research and Applications Centre of Excellence, is holding a workshop to help UK entries improve their chance of winning this year’s competition and in addition, is also showing its support for the competition by offering the winner of the UK competition up to £5000 worth of support in developing their idea further.
The workshop, which is free to SMEs & budding entrepreneurs, is being held on 1st July 2009 on the Jubilee Campus at The University of Nottingham and is aimed at organisations and individuals who are planning to submit an entry into the 2009 competition.
GRACE, based within the University of Nottingham exists to help organisations operating in the field of GNSS technology. As Paul Bhatia, General Manager commented, “One of our key functions is to help organisations develop applications using satellite navigation technology. Whoever wins the competition will receive a significant prize and we want to help individuals develop their concepts to improve their chances of winning. The Ideas Workshop is an opportunity for interested entrants to learn more about the competition and what it entails. They will hear from the experiences of previous winners and have confidential one-on-one discussions about their ideas with some of the competition judges and industry experts. Even if their application is not successful, I am sure delegates will find this workshop very useful, from both an industry update and networking perspective and in learning how GRACE might be able to help their organisation with potential funding and support.”
Entry for the competition closes on 31st of July and the overall winner will receive a €20,000 prize. The UK competition is being managed by the Hertfordshire Business Incubation Centre and the European competition by AZO with support from the EU.
