Wildgoose, the education division of aerial mapping company Bluesky International, has launched ‘Our School’ Classroom Pack. Combining up-to-date, site centred aerial photography with both modern and historic mapping, the pack includes multiple copies of each image for individual studies plus display items to stimulate group discussions. The ‘Our School’ Classroom Pack can be centred on any location in England and Wales plus selected areas in Scotland, and is available to purchase online at www.wildgoose.ac

The Our School Classroom Pack contains 15 laminated aerial prints, 15 laminated Ordnance Survey maps, 15 laminated 19th Century maps and 15 laminated 20th Century maps, for desktop studies. The pack also contains a foam backed Aeroimage playmat, a CD containing digital copies of the aerial images and maps for use of interactive whiteboards, laminated titles and key words for display, and a Teachers Pack with accompanying notes, activity suggestions, learning objective and key vocabulary.

Wildgoose is the largest supplier of aerial photography products to the education market. Designed to support teaching and promote learning at all stages of education the Wildgoose aerial photography collection features a unique range of innovative playmats, photopacks, posters, books and games plus digital image files for use on computers. In addition, with access to most up-to-date and detailed aerial photography covering the whole of England and Wales, plus selected areas of Scotland, Wildgoose can create bespoke products centred on a specific location or feature.

“As the first company to create and supply such a wide range of aerial photographic products to the education market we continually review our product range in order to develop new and innovative resources,” commented Rachel Tidmarsh, Wildgoose Managing Director. “The Our School Classroom Pack is designed to support teaching of the National Curriculum, promote both individual and group learning and engage with pupils and teachers alike.”

Wildgoose has been providing resources for education for over 13 years and has grown into one of the UK’s leading publishers of geographical teaching aids. Traditional Business Intelligence has looked at the ‘who’, ‘what’, and ‘why’ around data, but has ignored the ‘where’. Location is a core analytical dimension. Within this data lies a vast pool of intelligence that largely remains untapped for organisations. This rich data source is particularly important for UK Public Sector organisations in enabling a single view of the citizen, delivering citizen self-services, improving compliance, and optimising cost efficiencies.

Location is ubiquitous and influences most, if not all, business behaviour and outcomes – yet a lack of location awareness remains an analytical blind spot for a large number of organisations who have not considered how the geographic and location aspects of the data they hold affects their business processes… More…
