Wildgoose Launches 2008 Sec. Education Catalogue

Wildgoose Launches 2008 Sec. Education Catalogue

Wildgoose, the UK’s leading supplier of education resources, has launched its 2008 catalogue of products to support the teaching of geography at Key Stages 3 and 4, and at AS and A2 Level. With more than 50 pages crammed with high quality resources, the 2008 catalogue features more than 60 new product lines, some of which are exclusive to Wildgoose.

New additions for 2008 include the introduction of geography textbooks, an extension of the Wildgoose map service to include Ordnance Survey maps of Ireland, and topical teaching resources such as the Wildgoose Exploring England Deskmats and Crime Pack. All products within the Wildgoose 2008 Secondary Catalogue serve the requirements of the National Curriculum and are available to purchase online at www.wildgoose.ac

The Wildgoose 2008 Secondary Catalogue includes, for the first time, a range of textbooks to support the teaching of geography at Key Stages 3 and 4 and at AS and A Level. “In response to a number of requests from both existing and potential customers we have decided to source some of the leading educational titles to supplement our already extensive range of learning resources,” said Kathryn Lucas, Education Business Manager at Wildgoose. “By including a dedicated textbook section within the 2008 catalogue we are a step closer to becoming a one stop shop for geography resources.”

The 2008 catalogue also sees the launch of Ordnance Survey mapping for Ireland to supplement the existing UK digital, hard copy and historical mapping products from Ordnance Survey and the bespoke aerial photography range published by Wildgoose parent company, Bluesky, under the GeoPerspectives brand.

“This is our largest ever catalogue of resources to support the teaching of geography at secondary and higher levels,” continued Lucas. “The introduction of new product ranges and the addition to existing products lines reflects the changing curriculum and the requirements of our growing international client base.”

Wildgoose has been providing resources for education for over 11 years and has grown into one of the UK’s leading publishers of geographical teaching aids. Wildgoose is a member of the British Educational Suppliers Association and a registered content provider for the Curriculum Online scheme.

This Month's Burning Issue...
Each month we select a hot topic and a leading figure in the industry to write about it.
This month's burning issue:

HAVE WE REALLY LEARNT THE LESSONS FROM LAST YEAR’S FLOODS?

Flooding costs associated with extreme weather, both financial and emotional, have increased considerably over the last decade, and experts have predicted this trend is set to continue.

Paul Livett, Chairman of GroundSure looks into how increasing the use of flood risk information in property transactions can help to ensure both residential and commercial transactions are conducted on a truly informed basis, with buyers being made aware of environmental risks prior to purchase.

Over 2.2 million homes and small businesses in the UK are located in areas considered at risk of flooding, and the Association of British Insurers (ABI) has said that 570,000 of these face a high risk of flooding. The floods in June and July last year left approximately 48,000 households… More…
