W3G conference: Web 2.0 technologies and LBS

The W3G conference: A free, one day, (un)conference on the "3 W's of Geo"

Holiday Inn, Stratford-upon-Avon , UK
28th September 2010

The W3G conference (www.w3gconf.com) is a one day, free, 'unconference' being hosted by the AGI (Association of Geographic Information www.agi.org.uk).

This event is building on the success of the #geoweb stream at last year's AGI GeoCommunity conference: but we're making it much larger and with a distinct identity of it's own.

We are delighted that the conference is being chaired by Gary Gale (Director of Geo, Nokia, previously of Yahoo!).

W3G has a strong focus on Web 2.0 technologies and LBS. It is free to delegates (strictly limited to 120), and is being held the day before #geocom in Strafford-upon-Avon.

Indeed there is significant over lap between the two events, so this is an ideal route to meeting a very large 'geospatially aware' conference crowd (#geocom is the largest residential GIS in the UK with an anticipated 700 delegates). The format is as an 'unconference' but we have taken the novel step of introducing key-note speakers into the day to maintain the direction of the discussions along the theme of the 3 "W's" (Where, What and When) of LBS.
