Tweetsii Delivers Major New Enhancements; Now On Android
GyPSii, the leading real-time, location-enabled social media platform, today launches the Tweetsii™ application for Android and unveils new features and a streamlined design for iPhone. The application now has additional features to connect users with what’s happening and where, while design enhancements make viewing and creating content easy for the mobile user.
Tweetsii bridges the gap between the real world and the digital world by harvesting a extensive cache of information and connecting it to physical places then sorting content by users’ location, connections, and interests. Tweets and updates from other services (Foursquare, Gowalla, GyPSii, and commercial partners) are pulled together to show users what’s happening and where, and to give them a glimpse into the online conversations happening all around them. Tweetsii users contribute to the dialogue by checking-in, sending tips and alerts, and tweeting geo-tagged photos and comments.
Tweetsii updates and feature highlights include:
· User Interface – A new design makes it easier and simpler to find and create content. Tweeting, checking-in and adding photos are easy to do on the fly.
· HereNow – The HereNow stream lets you put your finger on the pulse of what’s happening nearby, tap into what’s hot around the corner, and connect with interesting people and places in the area. See recent activity including tweets, check-ins, tips, alerts, and comments; check out friends’ activity nearby; and find what’s trending in the neighborhood. With Tweetsii you never know who or what you’ll discover!
· Explore – Explore by category or term for an instant view of what’s nearby and what people are saying about the places. Results reveal a treasure trove of tweets, tips and alerts, check-ins, photos, videos, and points of interest sorted by proximity, ratings and time. Content is aggregated from Gowalla, Foursquare, GyPSii, and an index of tens of millions points of interest. Everything from bagels to burlesque – exploring your world has never been easier or more real time.
· Check-in (and be heard!) – allows users to “check-in,” let friends know what you are up to, and share your experiences with comments and reviews. Photos can easily be added to check-ins, because a picture is worth a lot more than 140 characters!
· Places – Tweetsii aggregates relevant information about a place and delivers it to users on a single screen; the entire digital conversation about places from Joe’s Bar to the Opera House is on display. Content from Gowalla, Foursquare, Twitter, GyPSii and a POI index is unified together for the richest view into the conversation surrounding a place.
GyPSii, creator of Tweetsii, runs the most widely distributed global mobile social media and location based search platform. The company is creating a global index of location-aware content that connects people with places and networks. It powers over 25 different location and social networking applications on over 400 plus devices and 11 platforms worldwide. Some of the world’s largest mobile carriers use GyPSii to create apps for their customers including China Unicom, China Telecom, and Telefonica in South America.
Tweetsii can be downloaded for free on the Android Market and iTunes.
