It is a well-known fact that in the face of a looming recession, with companies tightening their purses and budgets dwindling, the training sector is one of those to be hit the hardest. But as Susan Smith of the GISCafe’s GISWeekly puts it
“The good news is that products that allow more work to be accomplished by one individual, products that increase accuracy, clean up data, provide more accurate data, will always be in demand to solve real world problems.”
Bearing this in mind, The XYZ Digital Map Company plans to continue their GIS training programme in London and abroad.
Apart from the regular courses for MapInfo and MaPublisher held in the Dalkeith (Edinburgh) offices, XYZ will be holding a training event in London on the 16th, 17th and 18th of March, for which places are still available.
Considering the recent economic downturn, XYZ will continue its offer of a 10% discount, which effectively reduces the cost of the course from £595 to £535.
Apart from the courses held in London and Edinburgh, XYZ hope to continue their private courses elsewhere in the UK and abroad. The Nigerian army, after having successfully been taught MapInfo in 2007, will be rehiring XYZ for a course in ArcGIS in Lagos this spring.
