TENET’s MapRite Capture Tool captures 146,000 BLPU extents in 7 hours, for London Borough of Lewisham

TENET’s MapRite Capture Tool, the latest offering to the MapRite product suite, successfully generated 146,000 BLPU polygon extents in 7 hours.

The London Borough of Lewisham was facing the enormous task of capturing over 146,000 BLPU polygon extents with limited human and financial resources. Using TENET’s MapRite Capture Tool however, the latest addition to the MapRite product suite, they were able to complete the job successfully in only 7 hours.

TENET’s MapRite Capture Tool offers an ingenious automated facility for the generation of property boundaries from an underlying OS MasterMap Topography Layer. The tool continues to manage those assets as Change Only Update data is applied, providing critical impact analysis and suggesting rectified data holdings in sympathy with the changes.

Fuad Yusuf – LLPG custodian comments “Not only did the software capture all of the BLPU polygon extents, it also identified legitimate BLPU polygons that did not contain an address seed in the LLPG. This number amounted to around 250 properties which were classified as ‘ghost polygons’ indicating possible omissions from our gazetteer.”

Fuad continued, “Through its speed, accuracy and intelligent capturing mechanism, the MapRite Capture Tool has enabled Lewisham to complete the project using minimum resource. Other potential solutions were costly, time intensive and not as intelligent.”
