London Swimming Pool Company has invested in vehicle tracking technology as part of its ongoing commitment to improving customer service.

The pool design, construction and maintenance specialist has installed Remote Asset Management’s award-winning tracking system in a 10-strong fleet of contracting and servicing vans.

London Swimming Pool Company director Jamie Smith explained: “We have clients based throughout Central and Greater London and the Home Counties too, and it is important that we offer the best level of customer service wherever they are located. By monitoring the positioning of our vans we are able to streamline our vehicle routing, which is especially important if we receive an urgent call-out. Our resource planning and allocation is becoming increasingly efficient, which translates to better-satisfied customers that know when to expect us.

“What we have found though is that because the technology is so proactive and easy-to-administer, we are experiencing many more benefits than we first thought. Since installing the tracking, we have seen a reduction in the personal usage of vehicles, which means we’re saving money and fulfilling our HMRC requirement. The reduced fuel consumption and improved journey planning of course improves our environmental credentials too, which is incredibly important to us.”

When asked about employee reactions to the tracking installation, Jamie continued: “Some members of the team initially questioned our decision to invest in the technology, but it has quickly become clear that we can utilise the tracking system as a management tool that enables London Swimming Pool Company to work smarter.

“Whilst we have only been using the technology for a few weeks it is already clear to see that the investment is worth its weight in gold.”

With headquarters in Yorkshire and an increasingly successful office in Canada, Remote Asset Management has over 3,000 clients each with anything from one to several hundred vehicles or plant within their fleet.
