Sepura appoints New Chief Executive Officer

Sepura plc has appointed Gordon Watling, the company’s Chief Operating Officer, as Chief Executive Officer, to succeed Graham Matthews who recently announced his intention to retire. The appointment took effect from 1 October 2008.

Since joining the company almost two years ago as Chief Operating Officer, Gordon has been has been instrumental in delivering operating efficiencies and major internal change.

Graham steps down after a distinguished

career as a founding member of Sepura and as the Company's first CEO since its formation in 2002. He will remain with the business in the short-term to ensure a seamless handover.

Philip Nolan, Chairman of Sepura said: “My Board and I are very pleased that Gordon Watling has accepted the role of Chief Executive of Sepura. Gordon has been Chief Operating Officer since 2006 and during this time has acquired a detailed understanding of the Company and its markets.”

“He has also played an increasingly influential role in the leadership of the Company. We are confident of a smooth transition from Graham to Gordon and we look forward to continued growth under Gordon's leadership.”

“The Board would also like to recognise the significant contribution that Graham Matthews has made to Sepura's success so far. He hands over a very strong Company to his successor and we wish him a prosperous and fruitful retirement.”

Gordon Watling, commenting on his appointment, said: “I am delighted to be appointed CEO at a very exciting time in Sepura's development, as the Company continues to increase its international presence and global market share. Sepura has an outstanding reputation for technical innovation and will continue to build on that as a key differentiator delivering increased sales and shareholder value.

“I will work with the Board, and lead the management team and employees, to ensure that the Company maintains its relentless focus on all areas critical to our continued growth and success.”
