Printers vote Océ ‘Supplier of the Year 2007’

Brentwood, Essex – 19 November 2007 – Printers attending this year’s BAPC awards ceremony on 3 November voted Océ as the 2007 ‘Supplier of the Year’. The award is the only category at the BAPC event to acknowledge manufacturers and is a highly commendable prize to receive in that the winner is chosen by the members and associate members attending the event.

This year’s ceremony was held at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, and welcomed over 160 attendees from every facet of the print and creative industry sectors. The event was first held in 1984 and takes place annually in conjunction with the BAPC’s yearly gala dinner and conference, which is held at various UK locations over a weekend.

Nick Chalk, Sector Marketing Manager Commercial, said: “Océ is dedicated to providing a customer care programme that is second to none in the industry and has put a number of pioneering schemes in place. These include our Business Development Programme and Quality Centre initiatives, which are designed to provide ways of enhancing a printers business so that it can operate more profitably. As a team, we are delighted that our efforts in this area have paid off and that our customers feel compelled to vote for us to win Supplier of the Year 2007.”

The BAPC (British Association for Print and Communication) is widely acknowledged as the prime trade association for the graphic arts community and is run by printers for printers, providing members with a range of support services and facilities that are created to ensure the survival and success of its members.

Commenting on Océ’s win at the event, BAPC Chairman Sidney Bobb said: “Océ’s dynamic approach to customer care guaranteed it a place on the ‘Supplier of the Year’ leader board. With its dedication to adding value through its service, the company is especially in tune with the current demands and requirements of its target market and supports the ‘best practice’ ethos supported by the BAPC.

“For example, it is widely documented that Océ is a leader in the development of environmentally processes and systems. This year’s BAPC event was the first to be certified as carbon neutral by carbon management organisation Co2 balance. We are keen to be associated with companies that share the same ethical values as us and are also delighted that this sought-after trophy has been awarded to such a staunch supporter of the BAPC conference and awards ceremony.”

This Month's Burning Issue...
Each month we select a hot topic and a leading figure in the industry to write about it.
This month's burning issue:

HAVE WE REALLY LEARNT THE LESSONS FROM LAST YEAR’S FLOODS?

Flooding costs associated with extreme weather, both financial and emotional, have increased considerably over the last decade, and experts have predicted this trend is set to continue.

Paul Livett, Chairman of GroundSure looks into how increasing the use of flood risk information in property transactions can help to ensure both residential and commercial transactions are conducted on a truly informed basis, with buyers being made aware of environmental risks prior to purchase.

Over 2.2 million homes and small businesses in the UK are located in areas considered at risk of flooding, and the Association of British Insurers (ABI) has said that 570,000 of these face a high risk of flooding. The floods in June and July last year left approximately 48,000 households… More…
