Postcode Business Expands in 2008

While the business environment has turned decidedly gloomy, this has given new emphasis to the need to ensure that businesses target their potential clients as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible. Fortunately in the UK the very detailed and comprehensive postcode system provided by Royal Mail, and the PAF™ and PostZon™ products, not only provide a low cost mailing database, but also allow GIS users to quickly locate and analyse their clients and prospects (for example using MapInfo Pro™). Perhaps for this reason 2008 has seen strong growth in the XYZ postcode business segment across the board. This includes our comprehensive

range of Postcode Area maps, Postcode District maps (7 sheets), and Postcode Sector maps (22 sheets), all of which became available in downloadable digital format for the first time as well as paper, encapsulated paper or framed versions. Also popular are the GIS Postcode Geography boundary data sets (Areas, Districts and Sectors), which let clients create thematic map analyses, run geographic selections, create geographically based tabulations, and so forth.

While XYZ already offer a plot on demand service allowing clients to obtain site centred postcode maps at whatever size and scale is required, we are taking this to the next level. Due to be released in the next month or two is Version 1 of the web based Maps on Demand™ system. This allows users to design their own postcode (and other) map online, to see exactly what they are going to get, and finally to buy it and then either download it in pdf format or have a paper version plotted and posted to them.
